Maui Prince Hotel Brought to you by Panda Travel ®.
The 4-star Maui Prince Hotel is located directly on Maluaka Beach, considered one of Maui's finest and most popular wedding sites. On one side of the resort is the alluring Pacific Ocean with its crystal blue waters, magnificent humpback whales during the winter months, great snorkeling at Molokini crater and swimming with giant sea turtles. On the other side are the rugged foothills of Haleakala Crater and a wilderness state park.
The Maui Prince Hotel is secluded from the other resorts in the area and was built around an Asian meditation garden with stone paths, private meditation corners, streams, waterfalls and ponds filled with red and gold koi (carp). The doors of every room open into the garden while the windows and lanais look out over the ocean. The rest of the hotel grounds are immaculate with lush green lawns, trees and lounge chairs. Upon arrival, all guests will receive a shell lei and a cold oshibori (damp scented towel).
Golfers will enjoy the Makena golf course, owned by the hotel and designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. The North and South courses feature 36 beautiful holes along the coastline and up the foothills of Haleakala. Guests at the Maui Prince receive a discount on green fees. There is also a putting green, 6 Plexipave tennis courts (2 lit for night play), badminton, shuffleboard, croquet and volleyball courts.
Other property amenities include a children's pool, a medium sized pool with sun deck and lounges, complimentary cabanas by the pool on a first come first served basis and two whirlpools. The Maui Prince also has a popular children's program, the Maui Prince Keiki Club (ages 5 to 12). Kids will enjoy building sand castles, going on treasure hunts, learning Hawaiian arts and crafts and having a lot of fun. There are morning sessions ($25 per child) and an all-day program ($50 per child).
The spacious air conditioned rooms at the Maui Prince Hotel recently underwent a multi-million dollar restoration and feature a stylish, contemporary look with an understated elegance and Hawaiian overtones. All rooms have been completely refurnished with larger beds, white on white linens with rich woven fabrics and natural wood furniture. The furnished lanais are a great place to relax and take in the beautiful views.
Room amenities include mini refrigerator with complimentary bottled water (replenished daily), arrival amenity of a small basket of island treats, cable TV with pay-per-view movies and video game console, VCR, VCP and Lodgenet Entertainment System, bathrobe, hair dryer, makeup mirror, complimentary toiletries, complimentary in-room safe, coffee/tea maker with complimentary coffee and tea, voice mail and much more.
The Maui Prince Hotel features various dining options, including the Prince Court, voted "Best Hotel Restaurant on Maui", featuring contemporary island cuisine. For open air casual dining for breakfast and lunch, try Café Kiowai and the Makena Clubhouse Restaurant overlooking the 10th hole of the South Golf Course, a great place to sip cocktails and munch on appetizers while watching the sunset. If you enjoy Japanese cuisine, Hakone is an excellent choice with both a traditional and a tropical menu.
Don't miss the Sunday Champagne Brunch, voted by Maui News for 6 consecutive years as "Best Brunch in Maui". A Poolside Snack Bar is available poolside for light lunches and cool cocktails and the Molokini Lounge is great for sunset drinks, appetizers and nightly entertainment. Three nights a week, the hotel hosts the Maui Sunset Luau, an all-you-can-eat buffet with a wonderful Polynesian show.
